Pop Art (Design)

Pop art was created in the 1950s. It was first included in comics were the pictures told the stories. After some years, artist began to inspire themselves and started doing large painting of famous people like – Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Michael Jackson.

One of the most famous artists that presented pop art to the society was Andy Warhol. He was born in 1923 and passed away in 1987; His paintings were mostly remembered and his most popular were on the Campbell’s soup cans.

The process wasn't that easy to paint them directly on the canvas, therefore it was done with the process of silk screening. Basically you have a design divided in different stencils and every design stencil has its own solid colour the brighter the better. Than you start one by one adding the colour and leaving it about 5-10 minutes to dry and remove it so you’ll have a Sharpe edge and then you continue doing it with the other stencils.

Pop Art is becoming rather famous once again in our social life, were its also being used in posters; adverts; clothing and magazines. You can say that’s because history repeats itself.
