The Pre-Raphaelites (Art)

File:William Holman Hunt - Portrait of Dante Gabriel Rossetti at 22 years of Age - Google Art Project.jpg
Dante Gabriel Rossetti
22 years of age
The pre-Raphaelites Brotherhood was a secret society formed in 1848 by seven rebellious young artists who wanted to create the new British art.  Rossetti was the key figure in the movement which by that kept the group alive. The most interesting thing about the group was that if they painted something, they would do it as if the whole group done it.

When time passed, the Pre-Raphaelites were interesting themselves in decorative arts like murals, stained glass, furniture, textiles, jewellery and wall coverings. By their development, in their decorative arts, a new movement known as Arts and Crafts spread throughout all of England.

In most of the works done they always added a woman in the scene, sometimes it is the same woman. In their drawings they are showing a sense of movement, like there are some women brushing their hair or smelling a flower. They’re not just capturing the scene but they also want to show the movement that is happening. Their colours aren't that bright either, but they keep them really dull and dark.
