In that time jewellery wasn't only
for women but for men and children also. Jewellery was mostly worn by the Pharaoh
his wife and wealthy people who could afford it. The people also thought that when the Pharaoh
would pass on, they would dress him in the finest jewellery. The jewellery was used to be made out of
stones metals and animal products. The wealthiest people used to own lapis
lazuli, silver and gold. The necklaces
mostly were collar shaped going from the neck down to the torso covering a bit
of the shoulder; after they started making bracelets and bangles and they were
decorated with beads and stones, and also finger rings which they held on the
finger with two scarab wire twisted together.
Artist these days are really getting
inspired from the Egyptians jewellery designs. Collars are becoming popular by
the seconds in this era but the thing is people don’t see from which the
inspiration the design are getting it from they just see it shine a vibrant and
they buy it. These pictures give an example of how they kept the same design
and added some colour and some of them are completely manipulated and design in
a modern way. The ring is an inspiration from the dog’s head as I shown a
picture next to it, you can see how the artist kept that thought that’s it’s a dog
but in a modern way.
