Egyptian Pottery/ Sculptures

Pottery and sculptures was another important thing for the Egyptians, with them they represented gods and even told stories about them. When they used to make sculptures, the artists had to stay with the rules they had, when they started sculpting seated persons they had to do their hand on their knees, the Egyptian god had to be always seen as the falcon and Anubis the god of the funeral must have the jackal head. The people thought that the appearance of the Pharaoh would also be preserved so they told artists to sculpt their face.  Sculptors used clay, wood, metal and stone to carve into. Their pottery used to be made out of soft stone, this material allowed them to carve in it and afterwards they used enamel to decorate it.

People today are getting inspired from the design they used to do. They started building sculptures with sand at the beach and their detail is really impressive. The other two pictures show how artists nowadays are manipulating the designs and creating modern sculptures which still indicate that they are taken from Egyptian culture.
